Batschkapp, Frankfurt am Main, Germany8th March 2009
Marc Almond
The British singer, who has been successful as a solo artist as well as a part of the band SOFT CELL, had been seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in 2004. For a long time, it has been arguable whether he could recover from the injuries. When I read about his `Stardom Road Continued Tour´, I was very excited and grateful. Looking forward to watch him live on stage, I went to the Frankfurt Batschkapp on 8th March.

Phillip Boa & the Voodooclub, Leandra
It’s strange to say that German sound arts, in most cases, only seem to appeal to musically critical foreign-countries if it walks stray from the paths of overly exercised formulaic and predictable music. One of these artists, who’s never that much into following any of the current trends, but rather realizing his own vision of alternative German Indie Rock/Pop, is the singer and songwriter PHILIP BOA who has, through the years, always amazed with his refreshingly different approach to this kind of music, and without him it’s safe to assume the genre would have a much lower standing in the eyes of many, many people - interior or abroad. On 10th March, he was presenting his new Album ‘Diamond Falls’ at the Matrix Club in Bochum, supported by LEANDRA.

Sonic Syndicate, Deathstars, Phoenix Cry
I obviously completely underestimated the popularity of the bands playing at the Matrix this time around. A huge queue of people was waiting still standing outside when I arrived and after we entered the venue we saw that at least the same amount of people was already waiting in front of the stage and had occupied the best places in the first row of course.

Marc Almond
Growing up in the 80ies and being a lover of Synth Pop there was no other way than to love SOFT CELL's version of ‘Tainted Love’ in the early 80ies. From that moment I was also always interested in the solo stuff of MARC ALMOND, a man with a voice of many facets and so beautiful songs. So happy when I heard he will begin his tour in Bochum. And it was wonderful to see this man on stage again after all these years.

Ampere, Munich, Germany26th February 2009
Anne Clark
In 26th February it was time for me to see ANNE CLARK on her current tour. Her first recording was 'The Sitting Room' in 1982, and she has released about a dozen albums since then. Her experimental music occupies a region bounded roughly by electronic, dance (techno applies on occasion) and possibly avant-garde genres, with varying hard as well as romantic and orchestral styles.
