After a short and cold night, day 2 of the biggest heavy metal festival - the Wacken - had begun and we were ready to see high-class bands such as DIMMU BORGIR, GRAVE DIGGER, SCHANDMAUL or DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER besides several others more.

NCN II - Day 1: Steinkind, Golden Apes, Menticide, Stendal Blast
It is the second time that the NOCTURNAL CULTURE NIGHT festival took place now in the beautiful Kulturpark Deutzen - a culture area with open air stages, park and even a small lake where you could swim in. Unfortunately the weather was not good enough therefore, but anyway after a travel of several hours I was looking forward a lot to the first festival day which started at the evening with just a few bands, just a little warm-up so to say for the weekend that was coming up.

NCN II - Day 2: Mono Inc., Deviant UK, Amnistia, FAQ, Absurd Minds, Frozen Plasma, Solitary Experiments, Sono, Diary of Dreams
The second and for lots of people most important day was starting grey and rainy. I expected worst when I was looking out my hotel window into the falling rain. Luckily, the venue was in very good conditions and it did not rain the whole day. Just SONO were the really unlucky ones with heavy showers and strong wind. But more about this later. Saturday presented several well-known bands but also some newcomers. Highlight of the day was surely without any doubt the show of DIARY OF DREAMS who even presented the upcoming single “The Plague” - what was a surprise for most attendees.

Trail of Tears, Scenario II
Trail of Tears paid a visit to the Netherlands again. This time accompanied by a band from the Dutch Eindhoven; Scenario II. This was the last performance of this little Dutch tour and a bigger international tour. After this gig a twelve hour drive home awaited them. A new USA tour will be starting in January. But for now they were here to entertain us all evening and they sure did.

Area4 Festival Day 3: The Draft, The Films, Jingo de Lunch, Madsen, Sparta, …and you will know us by the Trail of Dead, Mando Diao, Tool
Last festival started with another case of disease. This time, BOOZED, the opener of the day, were affected. Guitar player Marvin got an absolute ban to move at all because of an extreme persisting infection of frontal sinus which was not getting better even on heavy medication. So only thing we could do was wishing him to get well soon. The cancellation of the first band meant for us to sleep an hour longer and so, the day started with THE DRAF at 13:00.
