Garden of Delight, His Masters Voice, Buried Time
Friday night is usually a good day for a concert evening. And if there are three bands playing for just nine euros there should be lots of people coming to the show. Unfortunately not that many decided to make their way to Bochum to see ‘Garden of Delight’ together with two more bands. Anyway I was really looking forward the headliner because I’ve never seen them before. After ‘Lutherion’ in 2005 the band recently released ‘Lutherion II’ - a good reason to visit the clubs for presenting the new stuff on stage.

Mesh & Mechanical Cabaret
It has been a very long time of waiting, but finally ‘We Collide’ the new Mesh album was released on Friday 31st March 2006. If you live in Germany then it's easy to get the album through stores like Saturn, Media Markt and Karstadt as well as online via Amazon and iTunes. The lucky German fans can also buy a Limited Edition of the album (CD+DVD) which is a limited pressing. With that special packaging you get to hear demos of some of the album tracks plus videos and a behind the scenes report of the making of the album. The album is available worldwide on iTunes since 31st March apart for Russia, Greece, USA, Japan and Scandinavia where separate deals exist. But ‘Amazon.com’ has the album in store as well.

Doro, Sonata Arctica, Altaria
This Friday night it would not have been very difficult to find the LKA in Stuttgart, even if I had never previously been there. In small groups metal fans of all ages were strolling to the place where, in a few hours time, the blonde, indestructible hard rock icon Doro Pesch, who has cast her spell over her fan community for more than twenty years now, was going to appear. When I arrived, the venue was already well-filled and I had to elbow my way to the stage, passing teenagers in Goth-style as well as old-established Metal-heads. For quite a while, this cute little family stood close to me; they had brought along their little daughter, and all three were proudly wearing the promo-shirt for ‘Doro’s’ new studio album, ‘Warrior Soul’. However, the banner in the background of the stage first announced the Finnish band ‘Sonata Arctica’, who, together with their compatriots from ‘Altaria’ to whom especially ‘Sonata Arctica’s’ guitarist Jani Liimatainen is related through a common time, are supporting ‘Doro’ on this tour.

ASP & Chamber - 'Once in a lifetime'
Since Max (Chamber) was a choral boy of the “black butterfly” (ASP), a thick friendship exists between both groups. Out of this friendship the idea of the 'Once in a lifetime' tour was born. Both artists always stressed that this would be a really unique tour and therefore we had to be present. The completely sold out Centralstation proved that also others shared this thought. For the evening Max promised a collection of songs that hadn't heard for a long time - unusual works and new stuff.

Midge Ure & Christina Lux
What do you do when one of the heroes of the 80ies is coming to town? You go and visit the concert, no matter what happens. Best known as the voice of ‘Ultravox’ Midge Ure announced some acoustic concerts where he would perform alone only with his guitar. Sounds promising and great? It was! In fact one of the most intense concerts I have seen this year so far.
