Night of the Proms with Maria Mena, OMD, The Beach Boys, Johannes Oerding, Fernando Varela, Scala & Kolacny Brothers, John Miles, Electric Band, Robert Groslot and Orchestra Il Novecento
The Night of the Proms is touring now in their twenty-second year. What started 1994 with a show in Dortmund now fills 12 big arenas 17 times in the weeks from end of November till Christmas 2015. Big part of the success of the NOTP is lying on the side of the artists, always being well mixed. Classic meets Pop! That’s the motto of the Night of the Proms (NOTP). The 75 head grasping classic orchestra Il Novecento plays the classics and accompanies, together with the Electric Band, the Pop stars. And those stars were extraordinary also for this year’s edition with THE BEACH BOYS or OMD among others. Orchestra, band, choir, backing singers and stars together with an extraordinary light show delivered once more an extraordinary concert evening where popular music from 300 years of musical history were presented.

Nocturnal Culture Night Fest proudly presents: ‘A Change Of Speed, A Change Of Style’ - A Collection Of Joy Division Songs, Performed By Various ArtistsJOY DIVISION, despite its short existence, certainly ranks among the main influences of many European bands. Today, 35 years after the group's tragic ending, you will find on this CD a collection of JOY DIVISION songs/ versions, performed by different artists from various countries. Most of these artists were impressed by the loud and aggressive style of Joy Division's live performances, and by their mesmerising stage presence. While the pioneers have long gone, their work and its intensity are still there for us to enjoy and be inspired by, and the works contributed by the participating bands and musicians on this recording are a testament to JOY DIVISION 's lasting relevance.

My voyage into music really started when David Bowie played the Bridlington Spa Theatre in 1973. I was on a family holiday there and my older sister went to the gig. Of course I was too young to go, but was found by my sister with the ‘Aladdin Sane’ lightning bolt across my face in her make-up. As glam flickered away and punk raised its head over the pulpit, I found myself listening to Lord John Peel and writing down each track I liked then spending my paper round money on the records the next day. My first concert was Siouxsie & the Banshees with Human League supporting when I was 14. I was hooked. - Special: A new compendium about Postpunk!
