IAMX “Animal Impulses Tour” - Only Swiss Show
IAMX played their only Swiss show in the little club KIFF in Aarau, presenting their new album as well as beloved old gems. It should become a very intense show, an intimate experience for anyone…
IAMX is the solo musical project of Chris Corner, formerly head of the band Sneaker Pimps. Founded in 2004 in London, it is an independent music project which also focuses on and experiments with visual art. Musically, IAMX spans multiple genres from electronic rock and dance music to burlesque influenced songs and emotional ballads. Corner's striking and wide ranging voice, and his way of programming sounds and beats is an obvious characteristic of the IAMX sound. On 21st March 2013, their third album named ‘Unified Field’ was released. Music & Performance
Finally, IAMX came back to Switzerland again to play a very intense show in a small club called KIFF in Aarau. I guess, IAMX could play in much huger locations than the 300 people grasping club, but it is always a special experience to see them so close and it seems to me, that they enjoy being so close to their audience. As I entered the location, the stage was covered with a black curtain. This time, there was no support band and the curtain was lifted at 21:30. Chris Corner, Janine Gezang, Alberto Alvarez and new band member Sammi Doll entered the stage with the ‘Animal Impulses’ intro. As soon as they started, the atmosphere in the audience was really hot and active. People danced, sang and screamed. It was like a journey into another world. 
The new songs from the album were presented as well as their old hits in new versions. The voice of Chris sounded crystal clear. The whole band was very close to the audience, and often touched hands of their fans. It seemed like there was no distance between them and they melted together during the whole concert. The journey ended after ‘The Alternative’. IAMX returned with an encore, starting with their latest single ‘I come with knives’ where Chris was wearing a cowboy hat.
