It’s one of the great live sensations of the year 2018: KYLIE MINOGUE, the “Princess of Pop” and at the same time the most successful Australian musician in the history of the global Pop music charts, is coming to Germany for five concerts! In the course of her world tour to her 14th studio album, ‘Golden’, the breathtakingly lively singer, one of the most successful solo artists in pop history, will be performing between November 13th and 24th with her thrilling live-production in Munich, Frankfurt, Berlin, Cologne and Hamburg.
It is sensational to see what KYLIE MINOGUE has achieved over the past decades - but the year 2018 has two very special anniversaries for the highly gifted singer, who always finds a new, contemporary balance between Pop and Dance music. First, the age-less “Princess of Pop” turned 50 on May 28; on the other hand, on July 4, 30 years ago, her first album, ‘KYLIE’, was released, which manifested the beginning of an international career rarely found in Pop music. With more than 80 million records sold, she is the world’s most successful artist from Australia, and with 36 top 10 singles in the UK alone, she is the second most successful singer of all time in the UK after MADONNA. In 2008 she was named “Officer of the Order of the British Empire” for her services to pop music, and a year later she was hired in France to the Chevalier (Knight) of the “Ordre des Arts et des Lettres”. Two special honours that are given only to very few musicians.
KYLIE MINOGUE began her career as an actress in the Australian soap opera ‘Neighbors’, which found countless fans, especially in Australia and England. The episode, in which her serial character Charlene marries her boyfriend Scott (Jason Donovan), is considered to be the most watched series ever with over 20 million viewers in the UK alone. While still working on the show, she began a second career as a singer. Her first two albums, ‘KYLIE’ (1988) and ‘Enjoy Yourself’ (1989), became top international hits. With the singles ‘The Loco-Motion’ and ‘I Should Be So Lucky’ the just 20-year-old get on world-wide number one placements; even the US cracked the young singer instant.
After the following albums were able to celebrate great success, especially in Great Britain, MINOGUE moved to England in the 90s. During this time she also played more in front of the camera and was in the movies ‘Street Fighter’, ‘Misfit’ and ‘Moulin Rouge’. Shortly after her most successful movie in her acting career, ‘Fever’ was probably the most style defining album, with ‘Cannot Get You Out Of My Head’ one of the biggest dance pop singles of all time and according to Yahoo! Music the “catchiest song ever”. The song climbed to the top of the singles charts in almost every Western Hemisphere, followed by ‘In Your Eyes’, ‘Love at First Sight’, ‘Slow’, ‘I Believe In You’ and many more hits. Since then she has become one of the biggest pop musicians in the universe besides 40 singles in the German charts. She was unable to stop even a serious breast cancer disease: she overcame the disease and has since intensified her efforts to raise international awareness of breast cancer, earning her an honorary doctorate in medicine.
At the end of May, her 14th studio album, ‘Golden’, was released, accompanied by the first single ‘Dancing’. Both publications immediately became a huge success again; the album rose in Australia, England, Ireland and Scotland at the top of the charts and was in the Top 5 in Germany, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and many other countries. Shortly after the release of the record KYLIE MINOGUE launched her sensational “Golden tour”, which will take her all over the world in the coming months and will be making stops in Germany for five concerts in November.
