If there was a list of legendary twin festivals, ROCK AM RING and its twin ROCK IM PARK certainly have earned their place on it. Founded in 1985, the Nürburgring and its sister festival on the storied grounds in Nuremberg have seen all the big names in Rock and Pop music ever since. And the headliners are definitely worth celebrating this iconic anniversary, as Rock am Ring is celebrating its 40th birthday, while the younger twin celebrates 3 decades if Rock. The headliners have been announced as SLIPKNOT, BRING ME THE HORIZON, and KOЯN.
It does not get much heavier than that, so all the haters predicting the mainstreamization of the festival can get another hobby. But it certainly does not stop here. Also, the remaining 90 bands of the already announced line-up should satisfy your craving, whatever musical style you are into. But the bands are only one part of the festival experience. Every seasoned festivalgoer will tell you that the best parties can be found on the vast campgrounds. So say goodbye to sleep, running water, and any other amenities of civilized life and embrace three days of true freedom and anarchy at the legendary festival grounds. This year, there won’t be any day tickets, so it is all or nothing this time. But do not obsess over the running order too long, as with only a few weeks to go, a dwindling supply of weekend festival passes are still available for ROCK IM PARK.
