Phillip Boa & The Voodoo Club, Orph
The Zeche in Bochum is really a constant in PHILLIP BOA’s touring schedule. Playing there already in April 2011, the band now came back in support of the new album, ‘Loyalty’, for another rousing show which made people leaving with happy faces afterwards. As support, they brought German ORPH to open the evening.

Wednesday 13 & Bloody Mary
When WEDNESDAY13 and his ghoulish companions are calling all the corpses for a party, then it’s a must-go… and so, quite a bunch of ragged undead assembled on that day at Kulturfabrik in Luxembourg, in order to listen to the master’s songs.

Garbage & Superbus
The last big GARBAGE tour in Europe took place seven years ago in support of the fourth studio album ‘Bleed Like Me’ when much to anyone’s surprise the last dates in France, UK and Belgium were cancelled and rumours occurred that the band would split-up. But the band around Scottish singer Shirley Manson found together again to release their fifth album in May 2012 and after appearances on Hurricane and Southside Festival in summer, the band now scheduled two dates in Germany in the course of their current world tour. The second last date of this tour took place in Cologne, where lots of fans were squeezing into the jam-packed E-Werk to see an energy-laden show.

End of Green
Happy birthday, END OF GREEN! Under this slogan (OK, granted, it’s “20 Years of Selfdestruction”, but let’s not get picky here), the Goth-Rockers from Swabia are finally touring again. And this fact - plus the announcement of a deluxe-set across 20 years of band-history - were reason enough to take the trip to Substage Karlsruhe and see what END OF GREEN got for their fans.

Into Darkness Festival: Pain, Moonspell, Swallow the Sun, Lake of Tears & Scar of the Sun
Darkness has many faces – and many musical outputs. For the second time, Rock the Nation invited to a tour under the banner “Into Darkness”, stating on 9th November. The package offered a varied dark line-up, from Industrial Metal to Gothic or even dark-romantic Doom. The show in Bochum was the second last one and when I arrived, the queue was not so very long. Reason might have been the early starting hour – at 18:00 – and later on, the venue was luckily really packed with people eager to enjoy this great dark line-up.
