IAMX the second! After already attending the great show a few days back in Bochum and with the mindset you can never get too much IAMX, it was no question we would be in Cologne too. The admission proceeded fluently and soon we were entering the venue and here I can only speak for myself, I was astonished how small the stage was and feared it would hinder the band’s urge to move to a great extend. A three-course meal of Finnish Metal was served at the Aschaffenburg Colos-Saal on 21st October and should attract a lot of attendees who impatiently entered the venue and gathered in the lobby shortly after the admission had been started. Obviously, anyone was looking forward to the promising line-up consisting of headliner AMORPHIS and the supporting bands BEFORE THE DAWN and AMORAL.

IAMX called and that’s actually already reason enough to walk out into a cold, grey afternoon on a Friday as I did on 23rd October, when Chris Corner and company would be playing at the Matrix club in Bochum. Many others had followed the call as well, some of them just wearing t-shirts while waiting for admission. Can’t be healthy at these temperatures! However, the t-shirt would turn out as best choice on the inside, where it was already quite warm but nothing compared to the degrees when the main act would be playing later.

Progressive Nation 2009: Dream Theater, Opeth, Bigelf, Unexpect
The spearhead of Progressive Metal had invited to come to the Frankfurt Jahrhunderthalle on 18th October 2009 and many attendees followed the call on that Sunday evening. Freezing and jittering due to arctic temperatures, they queued up in an exemplary manner waiting patiently for the admission which finally ran smoothly. UNEXPECT should be the first act supporting DREAM THEATER followed up by BIGELF and OPETH.
