6th December 2008
Zeraphine, Diorama, Darkcore
What do you do when DIORAMA announces on of the very rare concerts this year, even though it is hundreds of kilometres away? You go for a ride! And so it happened that I travelled far to see the band playing together with ZERAPHINE and DARK CORE on 6th December in Glauchau, a small Saxon city you might know for the well-known Woodstage festival taking place in the summer time. Announced as “Zeraphine and friends” you might have thought this would be a double-headliner show. But sometimes you are wrong…

Großstadtgeflüster
On a dark and rainy evening, on 5th December 2008, I went to Osnabrück to enjoy GROSSSTADTGEFLÜSTER at their current tour. The band comes from Berlin and was formed in 2003 by Jen Bender and Raphael Schalz. Their debut album ‘Muss laut sein’ (Must be loud) was released in 2006 and included the independence hit ‘Ich muss gar nix’ which made the band well-known in the German independence scene. The current album called ‘Bis einer heult’ and was released at 30th May 2008. GROSSSTADTGEFLÜSTER are Jen Bender (vocals), Raphael Schalz (keys) and Chriz Falk (drums). http://www.gsgf.de/ / http://www.myspace.com/grossstadtgefluester

1st December 2008
Alice Cooper, Whitesnake, Five and the red one
The first thing to notice about the Max-Schmeling-Halle, Berlin is that it’s an impressive venue. It’s one of those large stadiums that you remember years after for the sheer volume of people and for the atmosphere that that many people, who are all enjoying themselves, can create. Facilities were good if expensive, but the staff was somewhat offhand and at times downright rude and unhelpful. Those few boggles aside, I was present at a gig where all concerned from the support act to ALICE COOPER himself were nothing short of electrifying and excellent.

Anne Clark
On 26th November 2008, we went to Osnabrück to enjoy ANNE CLARK at her current tour. ANNE CLARK is an English poet and songwriter. Her first recording was 'The Sitting Room' in 1982, and she has released about a dozen albums since then. Her experimental music occupies a region bounded roughly by electronic, dance (techno applies on occasion) and possibly avant-garde genres, with varying hard as well as romantic and orchestral styles.

2nd Electronic Aid Festival: Jesus on Extasy, Destroid, Kiew, Patenbrigade:Wolff, Akanoid
In November, the electronic aid festival is taking place for the second time at the Saint Club in Oberhausen. With a total of five bands, the organizer independence e.V. presented a diversified line-up with top bands, but before we could see any of those we had to wait. A little delay in the schedule, but it was not that bad to wait. We had coffee - thanks to the promoter - and nice chats. So, the minutes passed swiftly until we could enter the e venue, eventually.
