Raismes Fest 2008 - Day 1:
Ace Out, Sammsara, Herrschaft, E-Force, Dreamlost, Glyder, Excalibur, Inactive Messiah, Virus IV, Mass Hysteria, Nilfheim, Y&T, Saxon
This story starts on an ordinary Saturday, somewhere mid September. The weather forecast isn’t that splendid, but there’s hope we’ll keep it dry. Unfortunately the weather gods in the northwest of France didn’t feel like obeying… at least not until the day after. I must admit I never heard of Raismes until a couple of months ago when a friend invited me to write a review of this little gem yet to be discovered (by me that is).

Saybia, Blake
The Danish band SAYBIA was guest at Cologne’s Luxor (former Prime Club). For me it was a premier, but as I only heard good things about them and the samples on their MySpace profile convinced me as well, I was looking forward a great show…

Eisbrecher, Jesus on Extasy
Even though front man Alex Wesselsky and sound engineer Noel Pixx just finished the new and third EISBRECHER album, there’s no time to chill or be lazy because the signs are already set for a stage storm again. The third EISBRECHER album ‘Sünde’ will see the lights of day on 22nd August 2008 and Alex and Noel promise their fans a dark-colouring rain, made of dark rocking ice pearls. Album number 3 will be the hardest and most sinister album to date. Free after the motto: fragile-violent, hard but sincere. To get the fans in the right mood for what is awaiting them with the new album, the EISBRECHER sent out a vanguard by the name of “Kann denn Liebe Sünde sein”, a club smasher par excellence which earned only positive reactions by the fans.

5th of October 2008
Celtic Folk Festival with:
The Dubliners, Beggars Row, Scrum, Irish Stew, Rolling Home, Gurbe Douwstra
For the first time there was a Celtic Folk Festival in the WTC Expo in Leeuwarden. Their headliner was a guarantee for many visitors of course. The average age was quite high, but so was the age of the main band of the evening. It was a pity that the seated area of the venue was in the front. So if you had a non seated ticket you stood some 20 meters off the stage. It seems to me that it was a bit boring for the bands as well to see only sitting people.
