Oomph!, All Ends, Mina Harker
With both their current single ‘Labyrinth’ and their new album ‘Monster’ placed at number 1 in the German Alternative Chart it’s not surprising that everyone still has the name Oomph on their lips nearly twenty years after they were first formed. Founded in 1989, Oomph have happily blended their many musical styles, evolved in new and diverse ways to encompass a grinding heavy rock with elements of their original electronic sound to capture something totally unique to them. Never tired or stale, they have sought perfection in every facet of their writing, production and staging. No other band to my knowledge has such a tenacious hold on every aspect of their format as they do, thus ensuring that their music reaches their fans in exactly the way they, as artists, intend it. On Monday, 17th November, we went to Osnabrück to enjoy OOMPH! and their support bands at their current tour.

Kaizers Orchestra, Mintzkov, Micke from Sweden
We heard a lot about this Norwegian band, called KAIZERS ORCHESTA, especially about their extraordinary capabilities as a live band and on this cold Sunday evening we wanted to convince ourselves if all this premature praise was justified…

9th November 2008
Oomph!, All Ends, Mina HarkerThe Columbia Club in Berlin has a long and somewhat chequered history as a music venue being first a dance hall for American servicemen in the 50’s. It had come a long way from that yet still retains a certain retro feel to it, being neither affected cool nor very luxurious in its appearance. It is, however, a venue with great acoustics, pleasant staff and all the facilities that you would want to see a really good gig, and that’s exactly what I did when I went to see the legendary OOMPH in Berlin on November 9th. I was pleased that there were to be two support bands, MINA HARKER whom I’d never seen live but liked and ALL ENDS who were totally new to me.

31st of October 2008
Emilie Autumn
The final night of October, time for the Emilie Autumn concert in Utrecht. This night was special for another reason, it was Halloween. Because of Emilie's habit to call her audience muffins, there were girls passing out muffins. Other candy was passed out during the concert as well and paper plague rats. The audience was dressed up lovely but the ladies on stage… they looked even better and they had the attitude and the sound to match it!

After arriving at the Factory in Magdeburg, we entered the concert room and the bands were already playing. It was said, the concert would start about 8:30pm with the band MUSTASCH but HONIGDIEB also played this evening. We were looking forward to a great night with some really good music.
