On the evening of June 10, 2023, an unforgettable concert experience took place in the beautiful Gründelpark in Glauchau. Legendary German Goth Rock band LACRIMOSA performed and got the crowd shaking. The concert was the band’s only summer open air this year and promised the fans a magical night full of emotions. At the same time, it was a special concert because the band had already been on stage at the legendary Woodstage Festival in the same place and now they came back.

Madrugada - “Summer Open Air 2023” - Support: No King. No Crown. 

On this warm summer evening, an unforgettable concert experience took place in the Gründelpark in Glauchau. Norwegian Rock band MADRUGADA took the stage and sent the crowd into a frenzy. The weather was kind to the visitors to the Gründelpark Glauchau. With a cloudless sky and no rain in sight and very pleasant temperatures, the conditions for an open-air concert were absolutely fantastic.

And here we go - day two of WGT is there and promising to treat us with more beautiful, dark & mysterious shows, melodies and impressions. I (Nastja) decided to spend the day mostly at Täubchenthal and a bit of it in Felsenkeller which is luckily really close by. I love Täubchenthal as a venue and whenever I can make it there during WGT, I will try my best to be there… be it just for a couple of hours.

The first full festival day started slowly at the camping ground for me. Getting a shower (without queuing!), enjoying a proper breakfast and also spending some time before the concerts start walking around at the AGRA shopping mall. I even found a few items which I liked and could add to my festival wardrobe. Afterwards, we went to Heidnisches Dorf - the medieval village. Friday is probably the only day when you can visit it in a super relaxed atmosphere. The ability of daily tickets for this one makes it really difficult to get inside on the weekend, but even if you do - chances are it’s gonna be super full. We used our moment to shop some silver jewellery and get the super delicious grilled champignons and potato wedges.

The more WGT editions, the more interesting the travels. This time I (Nastja) arrived in Leipzig taking a night train from Stockholm. It’s been an adventure and not everything went well, but in the end I arrived in Leipzig safely and even managed to get some sleep on the train. Unlike the past few years, I wasn’t able to arrive already on Wednesday, so this time Thursday felt much shorter as there was only time to do some grocery shopping for the camp, get the wristband and just get ready to get to Moritzbastei for what feels like a tradition by now - an evening at Moritzbastei.
