Last year we have made a special tattoo campaign for the visitors of the M’era Luna festival. Anyone willing could send us pictures of their tattoos. We selected three winners who received a small gift from the organizer and had the opportunity to become a part of “Special: Artists and their Tattoos”. The winners answered the questions which we normally ask artists in our interviews, and we also had a small photo shoot after that. We are really excited to share the results with you today, and maybe this year’s readers will be part of our next special...
A full-length album is the main goal and the logical conclusion of a segment of the path of a musician and sometimes the result of an era. Why do we need maxi-singles (MCD), mini-albums (EP) and demos? Of course besides the huge desire of musicians to share with the listeners what they have already done. The demo is first of all a sample of music and search for their own sound. Maybe the feedbacks will lead the authors somewhere else. The EP is a statement about yourself and more PR move before the release of the full-length material. But there are completely holistic and complete EPs with a certain concept and sound, which may differ from the rest of the material. The MCD is also a kind of PR move with remixes from well-known projects, but for the listener it is primarily a vision and interpretation of the group’s compositions by other musicians.

The first COMA ALLIANCE show was also my first concert in 2019, and luckily I did not have to travel far since it was just around the corner at the Kulttempel Oberhausen, where I am a regular guest. You might wonder what COMA ALLIANCE is? I guess you heard of DIARY OF DREAMS and DIORAMA already? COMA ALLIANCE is their joint project.
Chamber genres of the dark scene have always attracted me more than other genres, primarily because the spirit of classical piano music has been close to me since childhood. There were a lot of interesting releases in Chamber genres in 2018, however, 2018 became so multifaceted and diverse that some of the Chamber releases could fit very well into other top lists. Certain trends in these genres in recent years have not been traced. But this year it is quite probable that such a trend has appeared...
The Industrial scene is the most numerous stylistically, so the close intertwining of genres in Industrial is a normal practice for many years. 2018 is not an exception. As always, in the sea of monotonous homemade Noise projects, which released their albums for free on the net, there were interesting, unusual, diverse and vibrant multi-genre releases from both old respected projects and young musicians, who started successfully their career in industrial music.
