The Post-Industrial scene has undergone changes in the past couple of years. The feeling is that many Dark Electro projects are looking for their right sound. Someone went to the metal guitar area, which was heard more than once and in most cases was not successful at all, but the scene was losing another good band. Electro Industrial groups continue to create and they continue to succeed in that. Classic EBM sound also begins to return and not in the form of popular in the 00s Anhalt EBM or modern Old-school sound, but in the incarnation that contains modern EBM including dance melodies in between dry minimalistic sound and dense complex mechanical structures.

The working year is started, and our project is back too after all celebrations. And we want to start with an interview with wonderful woman Adelheid Winkler from RANDOLPH’S GRIN. At November 16 the band has released a new EP, ‘Vampire Mode’, produced by Chris Harms (LORD OF THE LOST). And we are very thankful that during all these preparations prior the release Heidi found the time to answer our questions. So please enjoy.

Reflections of Darkness [RoD]: When did you get your first tattoo and what was it? Did it take much time until you decided to get it done?
Adelheid Winkler [Heidi]: I got my first tattoo a day after I turned 18 and it was legal. I had thought about it for quite a while and chose a black star/flower motive that I still love, for my shoulder blade.

Synth Scene in 2018 turned out to be super interesting. Many good records have been released with high quality sound, cool material and various tunes. Therefore the choice of the ten best releases was more difficult than usually in this part of the dark scene. Many popular majors pleased their listeners with the release of their album, but not all Synth fans were always satisfied. In general the Synth scene at the moment is the most progressing and liveliest of all the branches of the dark scene. Many musicians have learned how to create or rather repeat the high-quality sound of their popular and famous colleagues, so it’s already difficult to amaze people with multi-layered dense sound, high-quality synths and other features. Therefore young projects were looking for their own sound to stand out and the old time-tested bands use their recognizable sound.
