Black Lower Castle Festival Day 2 with Gulvøss, Zoodrake, Rroyce, Melotron, Solar Fake and Diary of Dreams
We kick off Saturday with a hearty breakfast at our chosen café for the weekend and take a leisurely stroll through the nearby “Park an der Ilm” (also known as Ilm Park or Goethe Park). In the late afternoon, we head to Kranichfeld, parking our carriage at quarter past four and heading back towards the entrance. There seems to be quite a buzz at the merch stand already. I also pay a visit to the merch stand right away.

Black Lower Castle Festival Day 1 with Atlas Bird, X-Perience, 80’s Express and Forced to Mode
The third edition of the Black Lower Castle Festival kicks off this year on Friday, dedicated entirely to the 80s and 90s. Our travel group, coming from all different directions to Kranichfeld, has chosen Weimar as our base for this year. So, I’m leaving work early and heading out on Friday afternoon to the charming provincial town where Goethe and Schiller, Cranach and Bach, Wieland and Herder, Liszt and Strauss, and later Nietzsche and Feininger strolled through the winding alleys, inviting squares, and vast parks. This small town on the Ilm is bursting with cultural history, so we can’t resist taking a leisurely walk through the Ilm Park on Saturday afternoon before heading back to Niederburg for another wonderful day at the festival. But first things first, but not necessarily in that order.

Bruce Dickinson - "The Mandrake Project Live 2024" - Support: Dominum
BRUCE DICKINSON and Cologne, or rather Kölsch, have a history. “I have some of the worst hangover days of my life to thank for this plonk. It’s incomprehensible to me how you can voluntarily force it down your throat when there are such wonderful beers in Germany.” We’ll probably never know whether the legendary singer, who is playing solo in Cologne - without his regular band IRON MAIDEN - might have grabbed a Kölsch in the backstage area after all.
