Album Review

LEGEND are a duo from Iceland formed in 2011.Both of the members are not new in the music scene, the singer Krummi Björgvinsson is known for being part of the post-punk band MINUS, the composer/ producer Halldor Björnsson is for over 10 years involved in many electronic projects. In 2011, the duo decided to form a project. They took the name LEGEND after Ridley Scott's cult film about a fantastical battle between darkness and light. Their debut album titled ‘Fearless’ was self released in Iceland in April 2012.The album attracted the attention of the Canadian label Artoffact Records which released the album in Canada, US and Europe in December 2012.
It's difficult to categorization the music genre of the album because there are elements from many different genres. We can say that the main influences of LEGEND are DEPECHE MODE, NINE INCH NAILS and PROJECT PITCHFORK but also there are influences from the 80's and also some experimental parts. All these mixed are giving us a unique and enjoyable result! Krummi's got a very good voice and he sounds sensitive or aggressive depending on the needs of each song. Halldor's work on the production is flawless – highlight is Krummi's voice but also you can listen very clearly the rich musical background. You will not find in the album similar songs something which shows the wide spectrum of influences the band has.
LEGEND released one of the best albums for 2012 and they make us waiting with suspense and excitement  their next musical step!
