Paaspop Saturday: Shaking Godspeed, Therapy?, John Coffey, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Kovacs, Jett Rebel, Hats Off to Led Zeppelin, Saxon, Sick of it all
Paaspop or ‘Easter pop’ in Schijndel is the kick off for the festival season in the Netherlands and the weather proves to be quite unpredictable this time of year. While last year I packed sunscreen and sunglasses, it had been raining all week with temperatures between 4 – 10 degrees. This resulted in the dirtiest mud fest at farmer Anton’s meadow which is used as a car park.

Goethes Erben
GOETHES ERBEN, one of the greatest legends of the German Gothic and Alternative music scene, celebrated their 25th anniversary of being on stage, and Berlin was the city which had the honour to celebrate with them. I have never heard optimal sound there and especially for the epic wide screen sound of DEVIN TOWNSEND, this component is not that unimportant at all. But also the support bands PERIPHERY and SHINING had to fight with this that evening.

With over 4,000 visitors, the E-Tropolis Festival at the Turbinenhalle Oberhausen set a new visitor record. The audience was diverse and all generations of the dark electronic scene celebrated peacefully or intentionally aggressive in the mosh pit next to each other. The review is going to follow now, separated by stages. Whereas Markus Lambertz took care of the main stage, Fee Wundersee was responsible for the second stage in the Turbinenhalle 2.
