Welle:Erdball
This band is really an exception in these times. Since 1990 they play pure electronic music like the former ‘Neue Deutsche Welle’ (New German Wave). They are using old instruments and computer systems because of their conviction. The C-64 has always been their inspiration and favourite “instrument”. With their own style and sound they reanimate a musical world that has gone long time ago. We arrived a little bit too early this evening at the ‘Swimmbad Club’. So we got a very good place right in front of the stage. Even before the concert started, there was much fog in the little room. The concert room at the club has a very deep ceiling and it is always filled with smoke.

HIM, The Rasmus, Negative
It was like a Finnish invasion. ‘Negative’, ‘The Rasmus’ and ‘HIM’ – three of the most successful bands from Finland – were touring through Germany. For many people and I guess especially for girls this was just the best combination. I’m sure when you are a fan of one of these bands you like them all. The audience was mix of different nationalities. Next to the Germans some people spoke Dutch, some people French and who knows maybe also some Finnish fans were there. Though I haven’t heard any Finnish, but you never know….

Unheilig, Secret Discovery
The new ‘Unheilig’ album ‘Moderne Zeiten’ was released in January 2006 and directly made it into the German Media Control Charts. Even Premiere-TV used the song ‘Ich will alles’ for advertising. Since 16th February ‘Unheilig’ is now on tour to present the new album. Steady support on this tour was ‘Maren Noel’ who released her debut album ‘Voice of hope’ last November. Second support on some of the shows was the Goth-Rock band ‘Secret Discovery’ from Bochum. The evening in Krefeld started with a little surprise: Maren just left the venue short before the show… we don’t know really why. So there was quite some hectic on stage short before nine, setlists were changed and then the guys from Bochum entered the stage to warm the very well filled Kulturfabrik up.

Die Krupps, Lluther, Undergod
‘Die Krupps’ is another legend which saw a return in 2005. To celebrate 25 years of existence, the band around mastermind Jürgen Engler returned on stage and also recorded new material – a new version of ‘Wahre Arbeit Wahrer Lohn’ with collaborator Douglas McCarthy (of ‘Nitzer Ebb’ fame) and the brand new track ‘Der Amboss’ featuring the girls of the British electro pop duo ‘Client’. The anniversary tour continues in 2006 and we joined the tour in a very special place for ‘Die Krupps’, the Kulturfabrik in Krefeld. Supported by ‘Undergod’ and new Industrial Metal hope ‘Lluther’, it was a night to remember!
