July 8th and 9th 2006
Simple Minds, The Alan Parsons Live Project, Glenn Hughes, Stream of Passion, Beth Hart, Living Colour, Roxy Music
Sunny times for Bospop this year, a little bit of rain to cool us down some times but that was it; sunglasses and sunscreen all around. Even though there were not as many bands in our genre Bospop had a good line up with some old and new heroes of music. The first evening there were three bands, finishing with Sting who never seems to loose his charm, his talent, or his lust to perform. Many of the bigger bands of the festival only allowed so many photographers in the photopit which was a pity, it will cost them publicity.
The facilities at Bospop are great, there are many toilets and they are clean, there is a wide variety of food, there is even a small festival market and of course a merchandise stand. When the sun was too hot there were wet sponges to cool off the audience. Everybody was in a good mood, there were many different ages and many different kinds of people there but they were all in a good mood and it was peaceful festival.

15th and 16th July 2006
Sunday, 16th July: Liv Kristine, Secret Discovery, I AM X, De/Vision
The fourth day of “Bochum Total” started as sunny as the day before. It was only a little warmer and later on the bands on the “Schattenreich-stage” had to suffer a lot in the sun. To the final on Sunday four more bands entered the “Schattenreich-stage”: Liv Kristine, Secret Discovery – Bochum’s local heroes - , I AM X and De/Vision. The room in front of the stage was filled very well just for the first band and this promised a very nice concert evening where my personal favourites were I AM X.

July 7th 2006
Roger Waters
It was a special concert in many aspects today, first of all it has been some 2 weeks since the Roger Waters show at Arrow Rock Festival, also at the Netherlands. Then there was the fact that it was one of the only indoor shows of Roger Waters in Europe and of course it was the day Syd Barret died which remained unknown till after the weekend. The show was sold out with 10,000 fans filling up the infamous Rotterdam venue. Described by the leading Dutch music magazine 'Oor' as the concert of the year, let's see if this came true.

13th and 16th July 2006
Saturday, 15th July: Eisheilig, Jesus on Extasy, XPQ-21, Melotron
From 13th to 16th it was time again for Europe’s biggest music festival in the heart of the Ruhr district: “Bochum Total”. Four days provided magnificent live music through all genres – with free admission! National acts met international ones; newcomer met top-acts. The festival area was as always located in the famous “Bermuda-triangle” where you can find more than 40 pubs and restaurants to party until late night. About 900.000 people celebrated this 21st “Bochum Total” with about 70 bands on four stages. The weather seemed to love the festival too and provided four days of sun and blue sky. The date for next year’s festival is just set: 21st to 24th June 2007.
