Today I'm really proud to present you our interview with Tomi Joutsen - the voice of progressive metal legend AMORPHIS. I was really happy when I got the agreement from the band's management for this interview. On the day of their show at the club Batschkapp in Frankfurt, where we have meet, I was pretty nervous. But the first minutes after we have meet have blown away all my fears. It was a great and interesting half an hour with Tomi and now I am happy to share our meeting's results with you.Reflections of Darkness [RoD]: For me personally tattoos are art, so what are the tattoos for you? Is it art? Is it any other way to remind you about some important things of your live?
Tomi: For me personally it is a subculture and also a form of art. Of course now, when it is getting really popular and you can see tattoos everywhere. But for me, when I was a kid, I saw tattoos mostly on those guys from prison or on sailors or on some Rock’n’Roll guys. I feel tattoos as a little bit rebellious thing. Of course it’s a very beautiful form of art and it’s developing all the time and there are a lot of artists around the world, great artists and also in Finland which is great. If you want to have really beautiful tattoo it’s possible to get it in Finland also. For me personally it’s a little bit as subculture. But if someone will get a tattoo it’s not a problem for me. Everybody can do what they want with their bodies.

Carsten Klatte is a German musician, singer, lyricist and composer. The Berlin-based artist has been part of the German music scene since the early 1990s. He works as a solo artist as LACASA DEL CID and in collaboration with Yve Darksound as WIDUKIND. Furthermore he is known for his collaboration with German and international bands such as WOLFSHEIM, CASSANDRA COMPLEX, PROJECT PITCHFORK, GOETHES ERBEN, PETER HEPPNER and N. U. UNRUH. A new WIDUKIND album will be released in a few weeks. During last NCN we met the artists and he immediately was willing to join our project. Just read what he has to tell about his tattoos.- Details

This year’s festival season has come to an end for me and now it’s the perfect time to go through all interviews that we have prepared for you but not posted yet. Today I am happy to present you the interview with amazing and mystery woman Ophelia, the voice and soul of SAIGON BLUE RAIN, whose show I have enjoyed during NCN festival this autumn. Reflections of Darkness [RoD]: When did you get your first tattoo and what was it? Did it take much time until you decided to get it done?
Ophelia: I got my first tattoo in 2009. I wanted something that represented my Celtic origins, I've always felt close to and interested in its mythology. It was the result of a long reflection, before doing it, I wanted it to be quite big on my back but very feminine. Then, one of my friend created it for me: Celtic interlaces adorned with vine leaves which are the symbol of sensuality in the Celtic culture.

Already one year ago, at NCN 2016, we have started to do our first interviews and shootings for the tattoo project. And this year we have followed up this tradition. Already for the second year one after another, the Band ME THE TIGER has played on the NCN festival. So I did use this opportunity to speak with Jonas Martinsson, the drummer of the band, about his tattoos. So, let’s see the results. Reflections of Darkness [RoD]: When did you get your first tattoo and what was it? Did it take much time until you decided to get it done?
Jonas: It was in June 2009. I did the birds on my left forearm. No, I knew that I had to immortalise a moment in life directly after it took place.

I fell in love with the first chords into the music of this group during the first show that I saw in 2014 at the Blackfield Festival. Well, the fantastic tattoo of a huge crow on the whole back, which could be recognized during the show, was a good visual addition as well. Therefore, when I got an opportunity to speak with Krummi at Amphi Festival, I immediately took the chance. Before the photo session, I had time to watch LEGEND's performance and the most important thing, to listen to a few songs from the new album ‘Midnight Champion’ which will be released on October 13 this year and which I really recommend to you.
