Karnivool - “Regeneration Tour” 2023 - Support: The Ocean Collective
That evening, the Australian band KARNIVOOL performed at the Cologne Live Music Hall. Due to heavy traffic, I was late and unfortunately missed the opening band THE OCEAN COLLECTIVE. When I arrived at the location, the audience was taking a break and smoking a cigarette or having a drink.

Hands Label Night 2023 with S.K.E.T, Greyhound, 16Pad Noise Terrorist, Monya, Supersimmetria, Mono No Aware
Hands Label Night, the amazing opening event for my 2023 concert year, took place on January 6th at the well-known location Urban Spree. The excellent line-up and the fantastic reputation of the Hands label as the great event organizers were major reasons that the place was completely sold out and many willing people simply had to be sent away. Amazing artists, an incredible audience, and an absolutely marvellous atmosphere - a recipe for a top-notch event.

Rroyce - “10 Jahre Rroyce” anniversary concerts - Support: Wiegand
The Dortmund trio appeared live for the first time on the occasion of the underground band contest “UNBACO” in January 2013, in which RROYCE emerged victorious from 64 bands. During the past few years, the band has faced regular criticism - not “black enough” for the scene. And especially the Run-Run-Run dance, which is a tradition at every concert, is sometimes smiled at as embarrassing. Is that still Gothic? Honestly, I do not know. But does that even matter? RROYCE obviously love what they do and bring it to the stage with such passion and enthusiasm that it’s hard to resist. At least if you enjoy well-done Synth Pop and are not one of those goths who go down to the basement for laughing.

Nitzer Ebb & Front 242 - “Join the Forces” Tour - Special Guest: Liebknecht
I am rarely so enthusiastic, but after the concerts from the Berlin leg of the “Join the Forces” tour, there is only one thing that comes to my mind - it was a spectacular, completely unique event! Absolutely amazing concerts, the one-of-a-kind atmosphere - a real celebration of music! On this (fairly warm) January evening, Columbiahalle turned into one big dancing, enthusiastic cluster of musical fireworks, and I think if you took the energy generated by the artists and the gathered crowd, it might have lit up the whole of Berlin. Until the morning.
