Ben Christo (vocals and guitar) and Adam Hart (bass guitar) from Diamond Black
I first saw DIAMOND BLACK when they were on tour with LORD OF THE LOST in summer 2023, amidst the LORD OF THE LOST fever that appeared to be gripping the nation. The venue - Brudenell Social Club in Leeds - was packed full and the temperature was akin to that of a blast furnace. The anticipation was building so much that the atmosphere was almost electrifying like the moments before a storm… then, the first act, DIAMOND BLACK, appeared on stage. I knew absolutely zero about them, except they were British. There is always that consideration that the support band will be boring and everyone will be just killing time waiting for the main attraction and - oh boy was I wrong! The minute DIAMOND BLACK, fronted by the very charismatic Ben Christo, appeared on stage, they owned it. Ben’s dynamic vocals pierced the room like a cruise missile, accompanied by Adam Hart on bass and Jan-Vincent Velazco (PENDRAGON, GUS G) on drums.

Anders Melts (vocals) from Forgotten Sunrise
Founded in 1992, Estonian Industrial band FORGOTTEN SUNRISE (FS), based in Tallinn, is renowned for its unique “Outdustrial” or “Deathbeat” sound, often likened to DEAD CAN DANCE, David Lynch, KATATONIA, CELTIC FROST, and CLOCK DVA. The early years marked releases like the demo ‘Behind The Abysmal Sky’ (1993) and mini-CD ‘Forever Sleeping Greystones’ (1994). Internal differences led to changes in the line-up. The band evolved their style in 1996, incorporating computers and coining the term “Deathbeat”.

Sascha Mario Klein (music, lyrics, keyboards and production) from Neuroticfish
Influenced by the sound of SKINNY PUPPY, NINE INCH NAILS and DEPECHE MODE, the electronic music project of Sascha Mario Klein and Henning Verlage was founded back in the early 1990s. The duo’s last long player ‘Antidoron’ was released in 2018. Almost at the very same day five years later, a new album will finally come out on 15th December 2023. ‘The Demystification Of The Human Heart’ is a musical and lyrical journey through the corrosive state of society, the lack of empathy and the complex nature of the human condition. The release will be celebrated on 16th December with a “Heimspiel” (home match) in Kulttempel Oberhausen. We spoke with NEUROTICFISH master mind Sascha Mario Klein about the upcoming album, music in general and much more.
