After 27 years of a storied band history, the German Rock group LETZTE INSTANZ has officially announced their disbandment at the end of 2025. The Dresden-based band has shaped the genre of Brachialromantik with their unique fusion of Rock, Gothic, and classical instrumentation for over a quarter of a century. With their final emotional release - a farewell EP aptly titled ‘XXVII’ - the five musicians bid farewell to their fans, closing the final chapter of their career. The songs on the farewell EP, limited to 1,000 copies, are designed to reflect the band’s legacy while also serving as a heartfelt thank-you to their loyal fanbase, who have supported them over the years.“27 years of LETZTE INSTANZ - an incredible journey we’ve experienced together with our fans,” the band stated. “With our EP ‘XXVII’, we want to say goodbye in a musical way and honour the memories we’ve shared.” Since their formation in 1998, LETZTE INSTANZ has been a staple of the German rock scene, celebrated for their powerful live performances and stylistic diversity. Songs like ‘Komm!’, ‘Von Anfang an’, ‘Wir sind allein’, and the iconic anthem ‘Rapunzel’ - a concert staple performed in numerous remix versions - remain essential parts of the Rock canon. After extensive consideration, the decision to disband marks the end of an era in the German music scene.
The EP ‘XXVII’ is set to release on December 7, 2024, giving fans one last chance to experience the band’s signature sound. In addition, LETZTE INSTANZ will embark on a farewell festival tour to accompany the release, culminating in a spectacular farewell concert on November 22, 2025, at the prestigious Capitol in Hanover. This final show promises to deliver a fitting musical conclusion for their fans. Founded in 1998, LETZTE INSTANZ is renowned for their distinctive blend of Rock and orchestral elements. With more than a dozen albums and sold-out concerts across Europe and Asia, the band leaves behind an indelible mark on German music history.
