Review Flash

ANATHEMA curated a best-of album for their fans to celebrate being signed by Kscope 10 years ago. You will find a song of every album since the release of ‘We’re Here Because We’re Here’ and all of them have be newly mastered, to make sure the dynamic and the loudness will be smooth. Since ANATHEMA have a big catalogue, not every fan might be happy with the 13 tracks and claim that some highlights are missing. ANATHEMA did not choose only the songs that were listed in the charts but those that mark the biggest changes in their musical style.

ANATHEMA carefully selected the songs and this retrospective gives you the chance to go back to some of their best compositions, away from the bands heavy and metal focussed roots to emotional heaviness in every aspect. After listening through the compilation, you might feel inclined to go through your collection and listen through one of their past releases like the amazing ‘Weather Systems’.

Conclusion: If you have ANATHEMA’s releases form the past decade, the only thing that might intrigue you, will be the sleeve with texts about the band by Danny Cavanagh and the artwork by Travis Smith, if you are not a die-hard fan the release will give you a nice overview of the bands progress over the past 10 years.
