Tesla, Heaven’s Basement
Concerning its naming, the Californian formation TESLA was inspired by the discoverer of the alternating current, Nikola Tesla. Therefore, the band represents the straight electronic guitar sound in more than one way. Starting in the Hair Metal era of the 1980s, TESLA reached its breakthrough by releasing the single `Modern Day Cowboy´ taken from the debut album `Mechanical Resonance´ (1986). After the meteoric rise, world tours with ALICE COOPER or DEF LEPPARD were crowned with success as well as the record `The Great Radio Controversy´ (1989).

Arvika festival 2009 Day 2: Lillasyster, De/Vision and Depeche Mode
The second day of the festival was the one I think almost everyone at the festival was waiting for: the night with DEPECHE MODE. I heard a lot of people talking about how much they looked forward to see DM playing live at the festival and well, I sure was one of them! When I first heard that the Arvika festival had managed to book DEPECHE MODE I was very surprised and of course very happy! I just wondered how on earth I would be able to go and see this thing happen but then things just worked out and I am so happy I could be there and see them live! But before it was time to see DM, I had two interviews booked (Elegant Machinery and De/Vision) and also I was planning on seeing DE/VISION live as well.

Arvika festival 2009 Day 3: Aesthetic Perfection, Diary of Dreams, Little Boots
When we came to the festival area on Saturday, the atmosphere felt some off and people seemed somehow tired but then it was only early afternoon… We were invited to a press conference with the people responsible for the festival, head of security, police and others. By Saturday afternoon at 3 pm, the Arvika festival had sold 22,500 tickets and tey were still selling one day tickets. So, they were unsure about what the exact number of visitors at the Arvika festival would be. The head of security said that they had 400 security guards on the festival ground. The police told the gathering press that this festival had been a very calm festival with few crimes and troubles and the warm weather had a lot to do with this. The people responsible for the festival were of course very happy and pleased with the festival and happy that they had had such a great, warm and sunny festival.
