Arvika festival 2009 Day 1: Santigold, Röyksopp, Nine Inch Nails and Elegant Machinery
The Arvika festival was held during the dates 2nd, 3rd and 4th of July this year and I was there for the first time with a photographing friend Fredrik Sundström who had been to the festival several times before. With headliners like DEPECHE MODE and NINE INCH NAILS, this year’s festival goes to the history for being the year when the festival had the largest bands and the largest audience ever in front of the main stage Vintergatan.

Devilside Festival 2009: Motörhead, Soulfly, Clawfinger, Bloodhound Gang, Sepultura, The Bones, Misfits, Dscipline, Sodom, Cro Mags, Hammerhead, Disco Ensemble, Millencolin, Elvis Jackson, All Shall Perish, Naeara, Peter Pan Speedrock, Carburetors, Anthrax, Hatesphere, Kamikaze Queens
It was a muggy Sunday morning as I made my way to Duisburg where the first Devilside festival was going to take place at the Landschaftspark Nord. Doors were supposed to open at 10 AM and the first band scheduled for 10:10 AM. Sounds close, doesn’t it? It was nearly impossible due to the admission procedure taking much too long and when we finally reached the stage the first band already started with their last song, Would have been best to open doors one hour earlier to make this less stressful.

Wave Gotik Treffen Day 4: Nachtgeschrei, Cumulo Nimbus, Feuerschwanz, Schelmish and Letzte Instanz
The last day came and with a little tear in our eye we made our way from the camping ground to the Agra where we should stay for the rest of the day. Our last day was mostly filled with great music from the genre of the medieval sound. And with high quality bands like NACHTGESCHREI and of course LETZTE INSTANZ, it was promised to be a great end to a great festival we enjoyed as much as we did in the last days. We thank everybody for the great organization, the great bands and the great mood. We hope to see you all again next year to celebrate the next WAVE GOTIK TREFFEN!

Midnight Reign
MIDNIGHT REIGN is an act out off Los Angeles that has made a name for themselves and will not be thrown aside. This Rock’n’Roll heavy metal sensation is breaking the music scene piece by piece with their break-through debut ‘Never Look Back’ and upcoming follow-up ‘Are You Gothic?’ due out later this year. What is left for the band to come up with or even think of doing? Perform of course! And this is exactly what they decided to do, when it came to going from electric to acoustic throwing a small get together at the Glendale Hot Topic an annual monthly in-store event that all Hot Topics are trying to promote to help out the bands around the county.
